Alice was the first child of James & Eliza Draper.  She was adopted some time between 1871 & 1881 by her aunt, Clara Elizabeth Draper & her husband, Buddle Atkinson. 

 

She was born on the 23rd of October 1862 at St Helier, Jersy.  Frank was born on the 12th of April 1864 at West House, Ryton on Tyne.  They were married at St Saviour's Church, Eastbourne, East Sussex on the 21st of August 1889.  They had seven children in total, with all children surviving to adulthood.

 

Frank was a mining engineer, taking over some roles from his father, John Bell Simpson.

 

They lived for many years in Hedgefield House at Ryton.  When Frank died, he was living in Osbourne Villas, Newcastle upon Tyne.
