Charles was born on the 3rd of December 1843 in Hay Hole, Northumberland.

 

In 1861, Charles was a Clerk at a Colliery Office and was living with his parents.

 

In 1881 he is living with his mother and is a medical student.  By 1891, he is a medical assistant and is living with his brother Smart & his family.  It appears that Charles never married and therefore had no family of his own.

 

In September of 1895, he died at the young age of 54 years.
