Ethel May Newton

& Andrew Murphy

Ethel was born in July of 1892 in Sunderland, she married Andrew Murphy during October 1910. Andrew was born in the June quarter of 1891, also in Sunderland.

 

For some reason in 1911, Ethel started to use the name Ethel May. She continued to use Ethel May for the remainder of her life.

 

The couple had nine children. In 1911, they were living at 14 Thomas Street, Sunderland and Andrew is described as a Coal Cartman.  There is little doubt they spent their entire lives in Sunderland, as they both died there.  Andrew in the June quarter of 1963 at 72 years of age and Ethel at 73 year old in the September quarter of 1965.
