​Ellen was the second daughter for Robert Thomas & Mary Atkinson, she was born in 1837 in Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham and in 1856, at the age of nineteen years, married William Robson Jnr.

Reportedly, in 1857 at age 20, they returned home from a Gala Ball one night and her gown caught fire and she tragically burned to death.

 

It is unknown if William remarried and had any children.
