Buddle Atkinson Family Roots
Henry Edward Draper & Sarah Anne Wyatt
Henry was born in October 1840 at St Peters Port, Guernsey. Sarah was born on Jersey in 1843.
They married in Lowick, Northumberland on the 27th of February, 1868. Henry was a Master Mariner, at least at age 41 in the 1881 census, this is his occupation. We have been unable to find details for him in the 1861 or 71 censuses. In 1871, Sarah & Mabel are living with her mother & sister in St Helier, Jersey.
They had four children. Mabel, their eldest married her first cousin, Robert Hugh Montgomery Buddle Atkinson. Robert, or "Hughie" as he was known, was the second son of Henry's aunt, Clara and her husband Buddle Atkinson.
By 1901, they are visiting Mabel at The Riding, Northumberland. Most likely because this would have been when Robert was away in South Africa for the 2nd Boer War.
Henry passed away in the June quarter of 1901 in Hexham, Northumberland. Most likely while staying with Mabel. Sarah died on the 31st of January, 1931 at the ripe old age of 91. She is buried at Romford Cemetary, London with her daughter Maude Sarah Draper.
